Who Qualifies For A Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application process.
Applications at the moment are open and will shut on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should fulfill the following requirements:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a house which has a combined gross family earnings that does not exceed R350 000 for each annum.
• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined household cash flow doesn't exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and want not post any proof of income.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent people from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.
Applicants are reminded to supply the right Id Doc nsfas status check numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored in their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds individuals who are finding out or plan to research in a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
